Thanksgiving is Around the Corner!

With Thanksgiving just a week and a half away, many of us are finalizing our menus. Deep-frying a turkey has become a favorite tradition for its speed, flavor, and crispy perfection. But to get it just right—and safely—preparation is essential.

Here are 3 Tips & Tricks to help you prep for your turkey fry this Thanksgiving:

1️⃣ Pick the Perfect Bird
Opt for a turkey between 12-15 pounds. Larger birds can be difficult to handle in the fryer and may not cook evenly, leaving you with an undercooked or overcooked meal.

2️⃣ Thaw Completely
Your turkey must be completely thawed before frying. Any remaining ice or water can react with the hot oil, causing dangerous splattering or even a fire. Plan for about 24 hours of thawing time in the fridge for every 4-5 pounds of turkey.

3️⃣ Prep with Purpose
Season your turkey ahead of time. Whether you prefer a flavorful brine, a savory marinade, or a classic dry rub, allow the turkey to rest in the fridge overnight to soak up all the flavors. Make sure it’s dry before frying to prevent oil splatter.

Deep-frying a turkey is more than just cooking—it’s a crowd-pleasing spectacle. However, it’s essential to follow the right steps to ensure a delicious, safe holiday.
