With a winter storm affecting the Philadelphia region currently, now is the time to double-check your business’s snow removal and ice management plan. A safe, accessible property isn’t just good customer service — it directly affects whether Mid-Atlantic Propane Exchange drivers can safely and efficiently deliver your propane cylinders.
We do **not** provide snow plowing, salting, or ice removal services, but we do want to share important reminders so your deliveries arrive on time and your team stays safe.
Why Clear Access Matters
Our drivers must be able to:
- Reach your propane storage cage or exchange area
- Safely maneuver the delivery truck or hand-cart
- Complete the swap quickly without slipping or getting stuck
If snow piles, ice, or uncleared parking lots block access, deliveries may be delayed or rescheduled until conditions improve.
Key Areas to Keep Clear & Safe
1. **Propane Storage Cage / Exchange Zone**
– Keep at least 3–4 feet clear around all sides
– Remove snow drifts and ice buildup from the cage itself
– Ensure doors/latches are not frozen shut
– Elevate cylinders on pallets to avoid standing water or deep snow
2. **Delivery Route & Loading Zone**
– Clear a path from the street to the cage (at least 4–5 ft wide)
– Remove vehicles, pallets, trash cans, or equipment blocking the way
– Plow and salt the immediate delivery area so tires and boots have traction
3. **Parking Lot & Sidewalks**
– Plow parking spaces and drive lanes so customers and employees can park safely
– Salt or treat walkways and entry points to prevent slips
– Keep fire lanes and emergency access routes open at all times
